Get over it

Today, President Obama is in Los Angeles for a series of fundraising events. People have been adjusting their commute and work schedules to avoid the gridlock that usually accompanies a visit from the presidential motorcade. I've heard of some people complaining about the resulting road closures and traffic. One person suggested that the President take a helicopter everywhere once he's here (which I believe he did from LAX to the VA Hospital in Westwood). According to this NBC article, apparently it was a pain in the ass last time he visited back in August.

Here are my thoughts on it: Get over it. It's only one day.

A blog about pens

There really is a blog for everything. Even for pens. That's right, I said pens-- as in the writing instrument, which apparently, we don't stop to appreciate often enough. The blog is appropriately called Pen Addict, and I must say that I was rather tickled to see that the Pen Addict reviewed a pen that I actually own and adore.

Shampooing Experiment

They say that you're not supposed to wash your hair more than a few times a week. I'm going to try this for 2 weeks (through the end of April). We'll see if the flies start buzzing around my head or if I have any friends left by the end of Week 1.

Wait, how does that work if I work out?? Am I supposed to just hang out with a sweaty, oily scalp? I guess this will take careful planning.
